A meeting with the delegation of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) comprised of Mr. Mir Masood Rashid, Advisor to Chairman PEC & Convener PPDC, Mian Sultan Mehmood and Syed Jawad Gillani, Member Governing Body, PEC, Ms. Shaela Sajman, Member WEDC and Mr. Wasif Bhatti, deputy registrar PEC was held in the Sialkot Chamber on July 29, 2022. Mian Imran Akbar, President SCCI and Mr. Qasim Malik Vice President, SCCI greeted the delegates. Avenues of possible collaboration were explored between SCCI and PEC in order to devise the development framework and address the industrial issues faced by the members of SCCI for necessary resolutions. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between SCCI and PEC at the end of the session. Mian Imran Akbar, President SCCI shared that the graduate engineer internship program, final year design projects and identification of cottage industry would support innovation, product development and overcome shortage of skilled force in Sialkot. Mr. Qasim Malik added that the MoU would initiate efforts that would upgrade and elevate the economic status of Pakistan. Moreover, it will stretch the working capability of the industrialists to achieve industrial excellence. Members of the Sialkot Chamber and faculty members of various engineering universities participated in the session.
