On 19 August 2026, the SCCI Departmental Committee on Research Management for Sustainable Development, chaired by Dr. Syed Raza Ullah Shah, in collaboration with SGS Pakistan, organized an Awareness Seminar on the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) at SCCI. The session was led by Ms. Kanwal Shehzadi, GHG Lead Auditor, SGS Pakistan, who provided valuable insights into EU CBAM requirements, GHG accounting, climate-aligned supply chains, ESG compliance, and practical steps for Pakistani exporters to prepare for evolving international sustainability and carbon-related trade requirements. The seminar provided Sialkot’s business community with valuable guidance to strengthen export readiness, environmental compliance, and competitiveness in international markets.
