On July 13, 2021, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry in collaboration with E-Commerce Galaxy organized an intensive Seminar on “E-Commerce, Amazon, Payoneer, and usage of SEO Tools” to educate the existing as well as new exporters of Industry of Sialkot regarding the dynamics of selling their products on E-Commerce platforms mainly Amazon, Ebay. Mr. Qaisar Iqbal Baryar appreciated the efforts of Ms. Aisha Moriani and her team for working in getting Made in Sialkot products recognized on Amazon. An (MOU) was also signed between SCCI and E-commerce Galaxy for future collaborations. Mr. Khuram Aslam, Senior Vice President, SCCI also graced the event. Ms. Azka Ameen, Assitant Registrar SECP gave an introductory presentation regarding company incorporation with SECP using online portal. Team E-commerce Galaxy gave a detailed presentation on various aspects of working on Amazon for SME. Ms. Affaf Noor, Partnerships Manager Payoneer explained the audience about the payment gateway and integration with various ecommerce and freelancing platforms. Ms Ayesha Moriani, Senior Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Dr Shahzad Yousaf, City of London College, Mr. Urfan Yaqub, Co Founder & Director E-Commerce Galaxy and his whole team, Mr. Kumail Nadeem, Deputy Registrar SECP. Mr. Mohsin Muzafar, Country Head Payoneer & his team and Mr. Hassan Shah, Cordinator Ministry of Commerce’s Think Tank on Amazon and representatives from Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) briefed the audience regarding various dynamics of E-Commerce and Issues faced by sellers during account creation and product listing were also discussed and relevant solutions were advised through Q/A session. On July 05, 2021, A Joint Meeting of all Trade Bodies of Sialkot was held in Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the issue of levy of 5% Withholding Sales Tax on Export Companies against purchases from unregistered persons. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Qaisar Iqbal Baryar, President SCCI. Wherein, he informed that SCCI and All Trade Bodies of Sialkot had been demanding its abolition for the last two years but despite all assurances, no amendment had been included in the Finance Act 2021. Ch. Ahmed Zulfiqar Hayat, Mr. Faisal Mahboob Sheikh, Mr. Qamar Munir, Mr. Zeeshan Tariq, Mr. Ejaz A. Khokhar, Ch. Raza Munir and Members of Executive committee SCCI were also present in the meeting.
